First Kiss Poem – A Life Moment We Always Remember

Couple sharing their first kiss on a beach boardwalk at sunset with the sun glowing behind them for My Poetry Corner.
Where the sun met the sea, their lips met for the first time.

A First Kiss to Remember

When I think about life's special moments, there's one that always comes to mind — my first kiss. The mix of being afraid, excitement, nerves, and wonder is something you never quite forget. Today in My Poetry Corner, I’m sharing a piece that brings back all those feelings. I hope it reminds you of your first steps into love.

First Kiss

As they walk to the door,

She wonders where he stands.

She had an enjoyable date.

She feels attracted to this man.

He's never felt this way before.

Being together is what he was aspiring for.

He doesn't know if he should wait.

Waiting is causing perspiring.

Both wonder what the other is waiting for.

Both anticipate the other's plans.

With an ever-increasing heart rate,

He begins to think of a plan.

He eases toward her more.

He feels his sweaty hands.

He softly talks and gets closer to his date.

He eases in as far as he can.

He doesn't know what is in store.

But he gives in to his yearning demands.

No longer can he wait.

Their first kiss is better than they had planned.

Reflection of My First Kiss Poem

I remember my first kiss like it was yesterday. I was standing there, nervous, hoping, and scared to make the first move. As an awkward teenager, I thought it was so hard back then. But even as I got older, it didn’t get easier.

After my divorce, I started dating again. I tried dating apps and talked to different men. Then I agreed to meet some of them in person. Every date felt awkward. Sometimes, I knew right away that the guy wasn’t right for me, and I hoped he wouldn’t try to kiss me. Other times, I liked the guy and hoped he liked me enough to give me that first kiss.

You look at his lips and wonder... is he a good kisser or a really, really bad one? It's always such a relief when you finally know the person likes you and is an excellent kisser. That is what leaves a smile on your face at the end of the date, as you now wonder if there will be a second date.

My First Kiss poem captures the moment when nervousness and excitement combine into something unforgettable. First kisses aren't just about romance; they’re about hope, courage, and daring to believe in something new. Wondering whether that other person feels the same feelings as you. I wanted this poem to reflect that sweet, scary, wonderful leap of the heart.
