Sense of Fall Poem – A Poem That Awakens the Senses of Autumn

Children laughing and playing in a pile of colorful fall leaves, capturing the fun, sound, and sensory joy of autumn in a fall poem for kids.
Jump in. Make a memory.

When All of Fall Comes Alive

In today’s My Poetry Corner, I’m sharing one of the shortest poems I’ve ever written, but it’s also one of the richest.

Sense of Fall is part of my Seasons book for kids, and it celebrates something we all feel, even if we don’t always stop to notice…

Autumn comes alive through all five senses.

I wrote this poem because fall is the time when my senses wake up.

The heat of summer fades, the air feels crisper, and the sky is clearer.

The colors of the leaves are like paintings.

The smell, pumpkin, cinnamon, apple pie, brings you straight into warm kitchens and cozy sweaters.

Even the sound of crunching leaves under your feet feels like fall is whispering hello.

Sense of Fall

Underfoot leaves crunch

The smell of hot apple pie

Crisp breeze on the face

Reflection on My Sense of Fall Poem

This tiny poem is a gentle nudge to pause, step outside, and really feel fall.

In the fall, I feel like the world slows down a little.

I breathe deeper. I walk slower. I stop and stare at the trees. I drink warm cider and close my eyes just to enjoy the taste.

Fall is a season that wakes up your senses.

You hear the crunch of leaves underfoot.

You feel the cool breeze brushing your skin.

You see the brilliant colors drifting through the air like confetti.

You smell apple pie baking, cinnamon in the air.

You taste pumpkin spice, warm cider, and roasted seeds.

For me, fall feels more alive than any other time of year. The heat of summer fades, the air clears, and the world feels just a little more magical, like nature is putting on a final show before winter.

This poem is a reminder to unplug from screens, step away from the daily rush, and fully take in the world around you.

Go for a walk. Rake a pile of leaves and jump in it. Watch the stars on a crisp night. Visit a pumpkin patch, sip cider, make a pie, or just breathe in the season.

Let fall fill your senses.

Let it slow you down.

Let it wake you up.

Because the world is beautiful, especially in the fall, if we take a moment to notice it.
