Until We Meet Again Poem

A Love That Time Can’t Touch

In today’s My Poetry Corner, I’m sharing a poem that speaks to the kind of love we all hope for. The kind that never ends. My "Until We Meet Again" poem was written for couples who have stood the test of time. Partners who have spent decades together and still believe their love will continue beyond this life.

At Surviving Life Lessons, we believe poetry has a way of holding what words alone cannot. This poem is for those who have lost the love of their life, but not the love itself. It’s for people who still whisper goodnight to someone they know they’ll see again someday.  You can explore more poetry similar to this through the Blog Series Catalog.

Until We Meet Again

A love like ours never ends

Reflection of My Until We Meet Again Poem

I’ve known couples who were married for years. When one passed, the love didn’t end — it just paused. They still wore their rings. Still visited graves. Still celebrated anniversaries. I feel like my in-laws had this kind of love. My father-in-law passed away over 15 years ago. My mother-in-law holds him close. She refuses to give up an old flip phone because it is HIS voice you hear when she doesn't pick up. I love that she keeps it. I love to call and hear his voice on my rough days. He was always there for me and our family. It comforts me. So I can't imagine how it makes someone feel who loved so deeply for so long.

This poem honors that level of love —this poem is dedicated to my in-laws, who had the kind that goes beyond romance and becomes part of who you are. For people like that, death doesn’t mean goodbye. It means “I’ll see you again.”
