About

A single parent support group for parents raising children on their own, whether you are co-parenting, solo parenting, or newly adjusting. Share strategies, struggles, encouragement, and hope with others who truly understand. Life can be overwhelming, but together we grow stronger.

Group Rules

No judgement - every parenting path is valid.

Whether by choice, circumstance, or transition, single parenting looks different for everyone. Respect each story.

Keep it supportive - no shaming or unsolicited advice.

Share experiences and encouragement, not lectures or comparisons. Empathy over ego.

Protect your child's and others' privacy.

No posting kids’ names, school details, or photos. Let’s keep everyone safe.

No promotions, selling, or parenting product pitches.

This group is for support, not sales. Admins will remove spam to keep the space safe.

Listen first, speak with kindness

Venting is okay, but be mindful. Assume good intentions and focus on connection.

We Are Not Professionals

Surviving Life Lessons and its members are not medical, legal, financial, mental health, or other licensed professionals. Nothing shared here is professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please talk to a qualified professional about your own situation.

No Solicitation or Links

No soliciting, advertising, selling, or promoting products, services, businesses, or fundraisers of any kind, and please do not post links. If you have a helpful resource to share, email survivinglifelessons@gmail.com. Approved resources are added to our Resources page (survivinglifelessons.com/healing-support-resources), which is shared across the whole site. Posting links or soliciting can result in your membership being removed from the entire site.

Be Kind and Respectful

Treat every member with kindness and respect. No personal attacks, name-calling, or blaming others for your struggles. Disagree politely, and remember that everyone is at a different point in their journey.

Share Your Experience, Don't Give Orders

Speak from your own experience, such as 'What helped me was...' instead of 'You should...'. Validate feelings, ask open-ended questions, and let each person decide what is best for them.

Protect Privacy and Safety

Never share phone numbers, addresses, or other personal contact details, and don't share other people's private information. Keep support in the group rather than asking members to move to private messages.

Keep Content Safe

No graphic or triggering content, such as graphic self-harm details. If your story includes sensitive topics, add a trigger warning and share what you have learned, not only the hardship. Please don't promote unhealthy coping habits, and remember that healing takes time.

Stay On Topic

Post personal stories, questions, encouragement, and reflections related to this group's topic. Photos must be appropriate and relevant.

In a Crisis, Get Help Now

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. In the U.S., call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741. Please report posts that suggest immediate danger so moderators can step in. Members are not responsible for anyone else's safety.

Surviving Life Lessons is built entirely on shared personal experiences and lived stories from our community members and founder. We are not medical, mental health, financial, or legal professionals, and nothing here constitutes professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

This site offers inspiration, encouragement, community support, and peer-shared insights only. It is not a substitute for qualified professional care.

We encourage safe, respectful sharing and remind everyone that individual experiences vary — what helped one person may not apply to another.
