- 15Share your own experiences rather than telling someone what to do. Use phrases like, "What helped me when I was in your situation was..." instead of "You should do this..." Encourage self-reflection by asking open-ended questions. Validate their feelings instead of minimizing them (e.g., "I hear you. That must be really tough."). Avoid diagnosing or providing professional advice—this is a peer support community, not a therapy service. For More information. Check out our FAQ Page
- 16Yes! If you’ve read books, taken courses, or found resources that were helpful in your journey, feel free to share links, recommendations, and insights. However, ensure that: ✔️ The resource is positive, uplifting, and relevant. ✔️ You aren’t promoting a personal business or paid service. ✔️ We have a toll free resource page that we can encourage them to look at ✔️ We have a general resource page that we can encourage them to look at but also if it doesn't have the resource you would always recommend, send that information to survivinglifelessons@gmail.com to have it added to the general resource page.

- 18If someone appears to be in a serious crisis (e.g., expressing suicidal thoughts or severe distress): Encourage them to reach out to a professional or crisis hotline. Do not take responsibility for their safety—while we offer support, we are not professionals. Report posts that indicate immediate danger so moderators can step in.
